This is likely one of my favorite works. It was done on request from a friend’s son, Duncan Macduff, from a picture he supplied. I handed it over to him for his birthday, but I am in the process of recreating it because it was such an eye-catching and bright addition to the stand at the markets I display my art at, and thus I have indicated that it is for sale. Like all of my personal works that I do open for purchase, it would be a very sad sale.
Being a realist that in truth specializes in graphite, getting out chalk pastels in a rainbow spectrum and smearing them over a toothy A2 paper was a return to my childhood. I did use a black graphite stick and pastel pencils to add the finer details to the explosion of colour that makes up the majority of the work.
