This is the completed family portrait pencil drawing on A1 200gsm paper, and at 137 hours to completion it is definitely the most ambitious work I have done to date. It was a very rewarding, though challenging piece. I had an old photo that wasn’t too clear to get the layout that they wanted, and then I asked for individual photos of each of the family members to get the details correct. Putting a work together from different photos presents its own unique challenges.

I added the scroll as a last minute inspiration to give a proper base to the drawing, and fortunately it added to the whole effect rather than detracting from it.
