36 hours to completion, this beautiful A3 pencil drawing of Anna and Ivy was commissioned by Susan Klopper for her sister’s birthday present. It is the first person only commission I have done in many years. Because I have less experience with people, I interacted a lot with Susan and her mom during the project.

When we chose the photos to use, I only noticed afterwards that the girls were wearing the same necklace. Faces are always challenging because the shading has to be so lightly applied. I frequently resorted to rubbing a few shavings over the page with a finger then lifting it off with a putty eraser.
