71 hours to completion, this is an A3 pencil portrait of Corne van Zyl and her Saddlebred horse, Silent Wings, commissioned by friend Engela van Tonder as a house warming gift.

I made use of a lovely set of Derwent graphite drawing pencils on off white paper with nearly a cartridge paper smoothness. As with the previous drawing, I started experimenting with a white “graphite stick” (in truth I imagine its a hard chalk” just to pick up the final highlights on the drawing.
