32 hours to completion, this is an A3 water colour pencil and chalk drawing on Gouache paper that I brushed over with water to give it a painted look.

It was an unusual request: I was given an old painting done of a family member (grandfather) as a child and a photo of a child from the same family (grandson) with an uncanny resemblance to one another. I was asked to copy the style of the old painting and produce a painting / drawing from the photo. It was challenging to identify and then copy a style unlike my own, especially since I drew the conclusion that it was likely a water colour, and I have generally stuck to very light subjects in water colour to date.

Nevertheless I am very pleased to say the client was very happy with the result.
