25 hours in the making, this A4 mixed media is 1 of the 2 prizes for the Medieval Fayre: Viking Invasion 2019.

I achieved the background using water-colour stippling, but this is primarily a chalk pastel drawing. It took longer than I expected to complete, and I enjoyed working with a medium I am relatively inexperienced with. I achieved the subtle shading by under-saturating with the chalk pastel and then blending the colours together with an earbud.
