Berries in the Underbrush

9 hours in the making (excluding drying time), this is an interesting mix of acrylic paint to create the shadows in the depths of the leaves and stems, painted over with water colour once dry. I started as usual with a simple pencil drawing, brought forward some of the details with ink, added the acrylic and then the watercolour paint. As a final touch, I added more ink to sharpen some of the details that had grown a little fuzzy in the painting.

This made up my contribution to the grand prize for the 2019 Wild Wild West market at La Vue Guest Lodge on Saturday the 9th of March. Its always fun to deviate from the more serious stuff and try out new techniques.
