This is an oil painting on a small, nearly square deep canvas of about 12″ x 12″. A commission from Anusuya Vythilingam of the young Lord Krishna from a picture she gave me to work from. Anusuya was a fellow engineering student with me when I was studying.

One of the challenges of this painting was to give it the rich gold embellishments without using anything like gold leaf. Oil painting is one of the few techniques that I can attribute to some form of formal education, as I did it in art very briefly at high school, though I didn’t take art until matric. It is a medium that I love, but haven’t done that much work in.
