Scallop shells

6 hours in the making, this is a wax resist of a random pattern of scallop shells, an idea I got from Pinterest. I drew the scallop shells in lightly with pencil and then went over the lines quite heavily with a white wax crayon. The rest was made up of quite a few washes of different colours. After the first layer, I threw salt into the wet paint to achieve the texture.

Another fun one to do, this was my contribution to the prize for the Ultimate Cowpoke Challenge at the Wild Wild West 2019 market at La Vue Guest Lodge on Saturday the 9th of March.
